About SWAMDPA
The Saskatchewan Whitetail and Mule Deer
Producers Association (SWAMDPA) was formed in 1997 to promote the
growth of whitetail and mule deer farming in Saskatchewan. The
Association represents about 93 members farming over 4,500 deer in the
province.
In Saskatchewan, The
Game Farming and Game Products Merchandising Regulations are
co-administered by Saskatchewan Agriculture and Food (SAF) and
Saskatchewan Environment and Resource Management (SERM). These
regulations, passed in 1987, legitimized game farming as an
agricultural activity in the province.
The Association hosts an
annual convention and auction. SWAMDPA exhibits at trade shows within
the province. The Association has been active in working with the
provincial government departments to promote the interests and
well-being of its membership.
